Mayeli "Hot Wheelz" Sabala

July 27, 1989 - May 20, 2013

Mayeli Sabala was born on July 27, 1989 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, daughter to Fran and Victor Sabala, her parents and families continued support helped Mayeli learn how to set and complete life goals. After graduating from high school she went on to attend the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. She then transferred to the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas where she declared her major in political science.

Her goal was to one day attend law school and become a lawyer in order to help "DREAMers" throughout the United States. Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority, Inc. was honored to induct Mayeli into our sorority on November 23, 2008 into the Epsilon Class of Delta Chapter at the University of Texas-Pan American.

She is remembered by her line sisters Melody Portillo, Erica Rodriguez, Alexandra Garza, Laura Flores, her little sister Daisy Amaro and sisters of Delta Xi Nu. Although gone physically, Mayeli's memory continues to live on through sisters of Delta Chapter as they share the great legacy she built at the chapter and in the sorority.

Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority, Inc. has reserved the Omega Chapter in honor of sisters who have passed. As we continue our mission we keep our sisters in our hearts and remember their love and passion for Delta Xi Nu and the mission of our sisterhood.
