Maria "Scarlet" Corona
March 28, 1991 - September 5, 2019
Maria was born March 28, 1991 in Galveston, Texas to Rafael Corona and Carmen Cabrera. She was always smiling, laughing and joking around with friends and family. Maria enjoyed life and was a kind-hearted person with a beautiful spirit, full force tenacity, and genuineness. Always the first to help; never did she ever let anyone give up on themselves or their goals. She was the driving force of her family with her radiant smile and exuberant personality.
Maria graduated from Lamar University with a bachelor’s degree and was a lab technician in environmental sciences. She was inducted into the Blazing Beta Line of Xi Chapter at Lamar University in Fall 2016. Maria had such a lasting impact in Delta Xi Nu and in the community and touched the lives of those who met her, locally and nationally. She was the bright light that lit up every room she walked into with positivity, love and laughter.
Maria is and always will be our inspiration that will forever live on in our hearts and in everything we do. The world was a brighter place because of Maria and the lasting mark she left.
Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority, Inc. has reserved the Omega Chapter in honor of sisters who have passed. As we continue our mission we keep our sisters in our hearts and remember their love and passion for Delta Xi Nu and the mission of our sisterhood.
